Project Overview
The Old Man Boardsports Shop is a renowned retailer in Amsterdam, specializing in gear and apparel for snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. Established in 1988, the brand has grown from a single shop to multiple locations across the city, offering a wide range of products. I joined The Old Man as a lead designer, contributing to the establishment of their online presence and refining their marketing strategies.

Design Department Leadership
I led the creation of a design department, establishing processes and guiding a junior designer to ensure the consistency and quality of The Old Man’s corporate identity. This involved setting up workflows and monitoring the brand’s visual appearance across all materials.

Social Media Growth
I boosted, curated and created content for The Old Man’s social media channels, resulting in a 25% growth in followers. This growth turned social media into a major contributor to the company’s marketing strategy, enhancing brand visibility and customer engagement.

Collaborations and Store Openings
Working closely with sports-retail brands, I executed design strategies for windows, email newsletters, social media exposure, and POS materials. Additionally, I played a directive role in the design process for two major store openings, including the flagship store at Westfield Mall of the Netherlands.
